Who's accompanying you on your journey?

Ros Hoare ACC

A few years ago I had the privilege of walking a stretch of the Via Francigena (an ancient road and pilgrimage route) from Orvieto to Rome.

I travelled with friends but along the way we met others walking the same route, so I became familiar with sharing greetings, nods & smiles of acknowledgement, and stories of encouragement as I put one step in front of the other on this well worn and shared path.

This led me to reflect upon my life as a journey and to consider the significance of those that have walked my path with me.

Some fleetingly and others over many miles and many years - family, friends, professionals & colleagues. Some have joyously stumbled across my path and others have joined me at a specific point with specific intent.

My life is richer for all these interactions. You have heard the sayings, 'it takes a village to raise a child' or 'a problem shared is a problem halved'.

Most recently, I have been tracking with an amazing group of coaching colleagues. We have trained together and stayed together as our individual coaching practices have been honed and developed. We have laughed, cried, worked hard and subsequently become firm friends.

I am delighted to say that we have now formed the start here coaching collective, as a means of making coaching accessible to more people.

If you think you might benefit from coaching but don't really know what it looks like or where to start, then might I encourage you to take a look? Why walk on your own when you might benefit from the company of someone else?
